Gen Gordon-Thomson, CEO of Tactic Connects and former sports law lecturer at Birkbeck University, London, is returning to her academic roots to lead a compelling seminar on one of the most significant match-fixing scandals in UK football history. The session will explore how the scandal unfolded and how it inspired a proactive approach to integrity in sport, echoing the principle that “prevention is better than cure.”
The event also marks the official launch of Fixed: My Secret Life as a Match Fixer, the powerful new publication by former professional footballer Moses Swaibu. In 2024, Moses’ story gained national attention through the award-winning BBC Sounds documentary Confessions of a Match-Fixer, which earned the Sports Journalists’ Association award for Best Audio Documentary.
Motivated by his personal journey and the broader implications of corruption in sport, Moses founded GameChanger360, a pioneering platform dedicated to sports education and integrity. Gen Gordon-Thomson serves on the board, aligning with the organisation’s mission to deliver excellence in athlete development. As described by GameChanger360, it is “where integrity meets excellence in sports education,” offering athletes the tools and knowledge to navigate the sporting world with resilience and ethical clarity.
Joining Gen and Moses on the panel are industry experts Alan Alger, Affy Sheikh, and Ben Paterson. The seminar will be moderated by Dr. Andy Harvey and hosted by Sean Hamil, beginning at 6:00 PM.
When: 9 June 2025, 6 pm to 8 pm
Where: BO1 Lecture Theatre, The Clore Management Centre Building, Torrington Square, WC1E 7HX
