As 2025 draws to a close, the team at Tactic Connect have been reflecting on another year of shaping the future of sport together with a brilliant collection of organisations and individuals.
We must thank all of our clients and connections for their hard work and trust in us; we thrive on your input and collaboration to deliver the best outcomes and projects for you and your sporting communities. The Tactic Connect team are looking forward to delivering more with you all in 2026.
Tactic Connect CEO Genevieve Gordon-Thomson said, “2025 has been a year of incredible momentum for sport. We’ve seen netball flourish like never before, and have enjoyed creating new opportunities for participation and performance in the dance world. At Tactic Connect, we’re proud to have championed client growth, innovation, and inclusivity across their sporting landscape—because to us sport is more than a game, it’s a movement.”
Genevieve and the Tactic team has been busy representing Tactic Connect and the many organisations we are involved with at events the length and breadth of the country, and we thank all of the sporting events that have invited and hosted us in 2025. We have negotiated contracts with leading brands, successfully negotiated better playing conditions for athletes, attended graduations at De Montfort University for the National Motorsport Academy, been there in person to congratulate the Vitality Roses at games with the NPA, supported young pathway athletes with pro bono support, handed out medals at the British Down Syndrome Swimming Championships, The BASL Annual Conference at the RAC in London, Women’s Sport Trust Launched 2.0, Sports Governance Academy Conference in Leeds, to name just a few! We have lead the relaunch of the BASL PGCert in Sport Law with Leeds Beckett University, which we are delighted to see back in action for budding specialist sport lawyers. In house, we continued our growth to support all of our clients’ educational needs by launching a learner management system portal. We will release more about this in 2026.
We appreciate 2026 will bring all sorts of challenges, from the new expectations and fall-outs from the government budgets, publications of various reports and how sport might be impacted, the implications of new regulations for charitable organisations and reporting, Martyn’s Law with the ever-closer implementation and guidance expectations, continued safeguarding responsibilities for directors, as well as global economics and peacekeeping and how that might affect investment in sport and the continued impact of media, AI and streaming. There are many positives, but we appreciate that there are many challenges.
The Tactic team will be here to support our clients, new and existing, with all of these challenges. Our team has grown, as has the number of sporting organisations and individuals that have been part of our endeavours in the last 12 months. The plans and projects for 2026 already look exciting, and we will be launching our new website to show off our expanded range of skills and services. If you need us during the festive holidays, our office will be closed for Christmas from the end of the day on Friday, 19th December (we’ve worked above and beyond this year so have been rewarded with some much needed down time – we really do practice what we preach), and will re-open on Monday, 5th January, although emails will be monitored occasionally by different team members.
